Alternatives to buying from industrial farms?

If you're in a chain super-market, it's nearly impossible to find produce/meat that is not industrial. There are even "organic growing industries" that say they're organic, but baarrely meet the USDA regulations for being organic. Do not be fooled by labels. They do it to jack up their prices. Buying local is your best bet. There are many local grocery stores that only get their produce/meat from local farms. I would suggest googling the book "The Omnivore's Dilemma", for more info about your topic, because nearly the whole thing is about exposing industrial farms.
