Looking for a good epic fantasy, similar in quality to game of thrones. Any suggestions?

Golden Comp by Philip Pullman, otherwise known as Northern Lights. Lots of action, a very fierce young protagonist and sophisticated political/religious conflicts. It's got realistic fantasy and chilling clarity. Absolutely breathtaking.
