The fam would like turkey for dinner and I have a frozen, young, 25 pound erball. But I hate to thaw it in cold water for 5-6 hours as written according to the directions for a faster thawing. I'd have to change the water every 30 minutes. Can I safely pop it in the microwave for awhile (?) to thaw it before baking? Or can I thaw partially in the microwave then in cold water? Anything you can recommend whereby I can shorten the thawing time safely is appreciated. Thanks.
