When the body is in a coma..is the spirit outside the body or in it?

Like people do astral projections...during coma..prolonged unconsciousness...is the spirit outside travelling?..and what about brain death (irreversible brain stem injury)..where the body cant be kept alive via a ventilator..has the spirit already left the body..since brain death is clinical death
