How do I use a Rotary Evaporator to evaporate ethyl acetate?

To answer this question, you must know what is dissolved in the ethyl acetate. If it is a low melting substance, you would want to remain well below its m.p. Is the substance volatile? If so, you must select a temp and pressure that insures you don't also evaporate the solute that is dissolved in the ethyl acetate. Ethyl acetate boils at about 77 deg C at atmospheric pressure. (Do you need a reference for this?) I would suggest that a vacuum from a water aspirator and room temperature would be satisfactory. (Putting the rotary flask in a room temperature water bath will maintain the temp near room temperature. Without the water bath, the temperature would drop due to the energy absorbed by the evaporating ethyl acetate.)
